I ate at Bradley Ogden a couple years ago and was really looking forward to it again. I ordered the Kobe style beef, and it was a real disappointment. I have had good Kobe beef in Japan, at Per Se in New York, and at Bradley Ogden in past years. It is uniformly tender and delicious, with fat marbling so fine you cannot see it. The Kobe beef at Bradley Ogden in January 2006 had thick veins of fat and even veins of tough tissue. Lots of other way in which they no longer measure up to the best restaurants in Vegas. I suspect that Mr. Ogden got bored with his Las Vegas restaurant and let it slide. Too bad.

After reading about this place being overpriced and/or boring, we still decided to eat there. And it was a total treat – the highlight of our weekend in Vegas. For once, we were away from the glitter of Vegas to a classy dining room with impeccable service and perfect food. If you don’t mind spending $100/person or more on an incredible dinner, then you should try it. It’s all about quality, and this place is quality. The lamb rack is a winner, the blue cheese souffle is a winner, the foie gras is a winner, the artichoke soup is a winner, and the desserts are as much fun to look at as they are to eat. A good, reasonably priced wine list, etc. .
