I’m guessing that any newer comments (posted in 2007) will be much different from the old ones. This place has truly gone down hill, and I am upset with myself for going back there in the first place, to find this out. Years ago, before “the move” to the lobby, Kokomo’s was romantic and relaxing and tropical. Now, it is loud with both the hip hop music carrying over from the lobby bar, AND the music from the casino. The new “lagoon” is a joke, and the service was the worst of any I had this trip to Vegas. Kokomo’s will undoubtably see business go down as there is no way they will be receiving repeat customers, nor posotive word of mouth.

What a fantastic meal, and in such a tucked away location, you forget you are inside the hotel because you are surrounded by all the rain forest foliage and waterfalls. Great service, great food. Definitely recommend!

We dined at Kokomos on our last night in Vegas on Oct 20th/04 and made reservations the night before. We asked for 6:30 but were told there was nothing available until 7pm. We arrived at 6:30 anyway and figured we’d go have a drink if we couldn’t get in, but we were seated right away at a nice table near the atrium (after we mentioned to the hostess that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. If the restaurant was more full, I don’t know if they could have accommodated us as quickly.) The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My only complaint would be that the waiter should have told us that the portions would be HUGE. I ordered surf and turf and substituted the filet for prime rib. The lobster tail was massive, and never in my life have I seen a prime rib serving so big. It was 1 1/2” thick and almost 12” across. I ended up eating only 1/4 of it, and gave a large piece of it to my husband, who had ordered another type of steak for himself. He’s a big eater, but even he agreed we could have easily shared my surf & turf, as well as a baked potato, and been satisfied. A nice touch was when they brought us a dessert called “Crunchy Chocolate Mousse” with “Happy 25th Anniversary” written in chocolate on the edge of the plate. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t help but eat it, it was sooo good. We will definately go back again, but next time we’ll order more wisely.

What an absolute pleasure, this place was classy the food was fantastic and the servcice was top rate.
A man called Christian (the manager) saw to us straight away personally, we were seated exactly where we wanted to sit and the view of the waterfall was great!
The food was excellent and Christian and his staff were pleasent and attentive and tended to our every need.
If you want a fabulas meal and outstanding service vist Kokomo’s asap.

We enjoyed a nice romantic dinner at Kokomos. We had reservations for 7:00 p.m. (we booked them about 3 days prior). We arrived at the restaurant at 6:50 and checked in with the hostess. We had to wait at the front with several other 7:00 reservation parties. We were hoping to get a table by the atrium area, but were told that there were none available unless we wanted to wait an additional 20 minutes. However, the hostess did seat us at a comfortable table designed for 4 people instead. They have a pretty extensive wine list (some of the prices were even reasonable). We ordered the crab cakes for our appetizer…and they were wonderful (though small!). My husband had the New York Strip and I had the Salmon. My salmon filet was a bit overcooked. We would recommend this restaurant if you are staying at the Mirage, but I don’t think I’d tell anyone to make a special trip there if staying elsewhere. Oh, and when you make your reservations, apparently you have to specify THEN where it is you would like to sit…I still think if we would have slipped the hostess a 20 spot we would have been seated exactly where we wanted…(wink, wink).

A beautifully elegant atmosphere with an extremely high level of service. Our waiter was extrewmely attentive. The food was excellent. We have had various dinners from prime rib to steaks to chicken to fish, and the dinners are always sumptious. We have been there four time throughout the years, and it is continually very high ranking. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is a great place for a romantic dinner or a special occassion. Enjoy!!!!
