Hotel / Casino Ratings & Reviews The Orleans

Nice off strip hotel. Lots of amenities. One major problem though. The room we were given was already occupied. Front desk attendant worked extremely fast to fix the problem since the manager was just in back.

Great place for the price. If you are renting a car I suggest this over other off strip hotels. Stayed at rio on same trip and enjoyed Orleans more.

5 Stars John June 03, 2012

Excellent hotel especially if kids are coming with you. Kids Tyme, pool, bowling alley and movie theatre gave them lot's to do while I gambled. Everything was clean and the staff was courteous. Only wish the breakfast buffet opened earlier than 8am. Otherwise, fantastic stay.

I've been a customer of the Orleans since their opening and have always enjoyed the visits. Gambling is fun and their casino is very large offering lots of selections. Even as a low roller, I often get comp rooms, food and slot play. Even when not staying there, I always find my way out to the place. Rooms are large and comfy. However, they are getting "tired" and could use updates. If you are looking for a comfortable and friendly casino, I recommend the Orleans.

The Orleans is my home away from home. The rooms are spacious , clean and very comfy. The check-in and check-out never take more than a few minutes and they are friendly and welcoming. The casino atmosphere is tops. The tables are always buzzing with tourists and locals alike, and the friendly nature of most of the dealers make your time at the tables that much more enjoyable. The restaurants are all very good and the buffet is extensive and cheap. The drink service is the best I have encountered in my twenty + years of going to Vegas. And the drinks are certainly more affordable than any strip location . Bucket of beer for example is $8 compared to margarittaville which is $24. This casino has everything and no need to even go anywhere else !!! 5+ Stars

A wonderful place with great value for money! Employees were very nice (with the exception of Megan at the checkout desk) and I would highly recommend Orleans to people looking for value and clean pleasant surroundings!

4 Stars Phil S October 13, 2011

Great hotel for the $$. Lots to do, movies, bowling. Clean. Resonable prices for food. Great buffet.

5 Stars Buffet Critic August 12, 2011

The buffet here is epic. Delicious, variety, and CHEAP!! Very very good! and one more thing I have NEVER seen at any other buffet in the fabulous and wonderful town of Las Vegas Nevada. They have fancy flavored ice cream: strawberry, white chocolate, tiramisu, pistachio, mango, etc. And, they had m&ms!! Never have I seen those in Vegas. Delicious. You have to come here. It's extremely INexpensive. What is it like $8 for lunch per person? ALL YOU CAN SHOVE DOWN YOUR THROAT FOR $8?!? Wow that's a great deal. Youd spend more at a local McDonalds jst for one person. Great great buffet. Just- Great.

The rooms are outdated and old and disgusting. Has mold in the shower and stained carpet

5 Stars Sylvia January 31, 2011

Really nice rooms at good rates. Employees very pleasant and helpful. Food was good and reasonable. But the help of the security staff was outstanding when I became ill and had to be transported to the hospital for treatment. They not only picked me up when I was released but took me to a drugstore and waited with me while my scripts were filled. As a woman traveling on my own this was wonderful. I have nothing but praise for the staff at the Orleans. I would definitely stay there again and feel completely safe.

3 Stars BS from TB CDA October 29, 2010

Stayed there for a comped night in October 2010. They had an attendance draw and a full house, tight machines, but hotel room was nice, (only hotel I've stayed in with a phone in the bathroom) Buffet was reasonably priced, and calorie-laden. Absolutely solid--off the strip location is fine when you have a car.

5 Stars Elaine September 23, 2010

Great place to stay. The room was spacious, clean and fantastic value.
Breakfast buffet had lots of choice, was really tasty and, again, great value for money.
I imagined it would be difficult to get a drink unless you were gambling big but this wasn't the case at all. There were plenty of waitresses who came round regularly.
Pool was lovely (and cocktails by the pool were reasonably priced and delicious!)
It wasn't a problem for us at all being off the strip. Their shuttle bus came regularly and stopped conveniently on the strip (Bill's Gambling Hall/Casino). When we did take a cab, it wasn't a lot.
Some reviews complain about the smoky casino but I didn't find it worse than anywhere else (although being used to smoke free areas in England, Vegas casinos on the whole were a bit of a shock).
We'll be returning to The Orleans next year and can't wait!

3 Stars Kit Kitchens May 06, 2010

The Orleans is a decent place. Sucks that it's so far off strip but it can be a good deal if you get a good rate. Rooms are spacious and they look OK. Nice casino too.

3 Stars Russell Sauve April 12, 2010

A good experience. Clean rooms, affordable rates and enough different restaurants to keep you from leaving the property. Fun and friendly gaming staff and the steak house is great! and half the price than its rivals on the strip.

2 Stars Bobby March 14, 2010

Rooms are nothing special, bathroom was worse than I would have expected. Hotel itself is ok but doesn't compare to what's on the strip. Having to shuttle to the strip and cab home was a big pain and expensive. Spend a couple bucks more to stay at MGM or mirage; you'll enjoy your stay that much more

Fun place to gamble and people were nice.

My husband and I have been to Vegas 4 times over the past 3 years and since our first trip (which included 2 nights each @ the Mirage, the Fitz (downtown) & the Orleans) have chosen to stay at the Orleans for our vacations! We usually stay 3-4 nights and are very budget conscious. We love the Orleans b/c of the AWESOME deals they send in the mail (2 trips were booked from those offers - 1 was $29/night!!) and the standard rooms are bigger than other standard rooms on the strip! All 4 times our room has been clean, comfy bed, perfect tempurature and we got a 2-for-1 buffet last 2 times we stayed (which is already a great deal, like $8 each & the food is great for the price). Some people complain about kids, there are always a few, but have never been a problem, the hotel is huge and the kids usually stay in the kid-friendly designated areas. I have never swam in the pool - well, because I could swim @ home! I'm here to gamble & sightsee, etc. The only thing that has changed for the worse @ this hotel is the coupon book they used to give @ check in, we used it a lot - bunch of 2-for-1 deals & coupons for every restaurant ... but the room rates are so good, can't pass them up! However, the restaurants are usually a good deal anyway. Our favorite is Koji (Asian bistro) and the buffet is pretty good. We eat breakfast @ the Courtyard Cafe b/c it's cheap and a ton of options. When they had the coupon book we ate more meals @ the Orleans, Don Miguel's is very good too and on our last trip we were up quite late one night and saw that TGIFridays does 1/2 price apps & drinks after a certain hour - it was really good & cheap! I noticed some people complain about being off-strip, but we've never waited more than 10 mins for a shuttle to the strip & it drops you right in the middle @ Bill's gambling hall next to the Flamingo! We either hop on the bus (cheap cheap cheap) or get a monorail pass, we're in our early 30s, can't beat it! My husband also loves to play in the poker room, a lot of locals during the week, then friday night all the kids from Cali come in and give him their money :) (well he wins it of course), he's always done well there. I feel like they have a good assortment of slots as well & good priced table games. After 4 days, I do start to get a little bored here, which is why I gave 4 stars... but will always come here for a 3-4 nighter if they have the same deals!

I stayed at the orleans in april of 2008 the room was ok except that I returned from casino one night only to find the the bathroom sink had backed up and over flowed all over floor with what smelt like raw sewage.I had to change rooms that night and I was not compensated for my inconvience. Also on another day my wife opened the the bath room door when she heard the door to the room open and close only to find a maintenance man standing on the other side of bathroom door while she was stark naked expecting to see me.All they did for us was to drop the $4.50 fee.

0 Stars LV Traveler July 19, 2008

My family traveled to Las Vegas three times in the past five years, and we always stay at the Orleans. For the price, the size of the rooms can't be beat. It has a lot of amenities for the kids- inexpensive bowling, a movie theater, a great pool and a games arcade to keep them busy. The Orleans also has a wide variety of restaurants for any taste, from fancy to hamburgers, as well as two national chains (TGI Fridays and Subway) located inside. The shuttle bus takes you to the strip if you want to see the sights or gamble elsewhere. We have never been disappointed by our stay at the Orleans.

BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!! Large casino, nice rooms, better beds than Belagio and a friendly feel. Good blend of locals and tourists, fair slots and good table games.

The free shuttle between the different properties gives you a convenient and cheap way to get to the other Coast Casinos, on or off the strip. You getto see a lot more of Las Vegas and save 100 bucks in cab fares over your stay.

Also, has resonably priced eating establishments and the best prime rib place in town (and reasonable). The Prime Rib Loft has great food and is a lovely placeto relax and enjoy the best of Vegas!

My husband and I go to Vegas about 3 times a year and love staying at the Orleans. Super friendly people, excellent bed!, tons of great restaurants, huge poker room and have never been disappointed. The rate is much better than the "strip" hotels and you can take the shuttle to the strip very easily. Highly recommend The Orleans! Have stayed there about 9 times.

Rooms were very clean the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Had to ask 3 x's for extra pillows though. Any food we had was very--very good the Courtyard Cafe was impressive with the speed that they served you and also the ammount of food--wow you didn't leave hungry. Everyone was very nice my only complaint was the Cocktail Waitress'es were hard to find. We sat an hour at the Slots once and no one came by once to offer us a drink. We had to ask. I like the fact that Security is on the ball there so you feel safe and secure. Just wish they had more then 1 Gift shop.

The Orleans was a delightful stay for us. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the restaurants were wonderful. We ate at the Buffet (DO NOT miss the Monday night Seafood night!), the coffee shop, the Italian restaurant (You won't believe the prices! LOW!) and the Mexican Restaurant. We enjoyed the coffee shop and ice cream parlor as well. The casino had lots of fun games (we are slot players) and we would absolutely come again. ONE negative...they charge $11 or so per day for high speed internet...Come on guys...even on vacation, we business types take our laptops and need this. It's FREE at a Super 8 for cryin' our loud! We WOULD stay again!

We had a very pleasant stay here. The hotel was nice and the casino was the best I played in. They have reasonable limits and very friendly dealers.

Last June my husband and I decided to come to Vegas. We decided we were going to stay off the strip. We had visited Orleans prior to our last trip and that is what made our decision to stay there. It was worth it and I would definitely do it again. The service was great the valet parking you never had to wait more than 5 minutes for the car even when it was crowded. The rooms where excellent in cleaniness. The elevators never had to wait as soon as you push the button one was there. The cafe the service was great. I nothing bad to
say about this place. We enjoyed the casino there was plenty of machines and tables for every one. I might have not won big but win enough to keep me playing. Plus the rates are reasonable. Since I have been going to Vegas about 25yrs I can see how much Corporation has taken over on the Strip and it all about money. Years ago you could get a rooms cheap and eat cheap. Now it is the bigger restaurants with the bigger prices. I would advise anyone who doesn't have a large bank account and want to stil have fun. Stay off the Strip if you are staying over. The hotel have buses that run to the strip if you don't want to rent a car.

The Orleans is one of the best off-strip hotels in Vegas. All standard rooms are a huge 450 square feet. No rooms are 300 sf as this web-site indicates. The bathrooms are good size, with the tub and toilet in one room with a small window you can open. There's a second telephone next to the toilet. The sink is in another room with a sliding door that hides the entire bathroom area; a unique and quite functional setup.

Your standard room has a sofa, chair and cocktail table in a sitting area next to the window. The furniture is not beat up and the rooms are always very clean and look new. The beds have foam mattresses that are just wonderful. The east-facing rooms give you a panorama of the entire strip from the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay.

At check-in, all register guests receive a 'fun book' with restaurant discounts, free drinks at the Orleans, Gold Coast, Barbary Coast, & Suncoast, 2-1 showroom tickets, free gift, etc.

The food served in every restaurant is prepared and served with high quality. The great buffet is huge, with 8 islands and multiple selections of desserts, BBQ, seafood, American, Mongolian, Italian, and Asian.

The pool is area is large and cut off from other tourists, with a room key required for entry. The area is nicely laid out, with cocktail service available.

The extremely appealing casino is loaded with every variation of Video Poker imaginable. Table limits are low during the day, with $3 blackjack and 50 cent roulette. A free shuttle runs about every 20 minutes to/from the Barbary Coast in the center of the strip and the Gold Coast (next to the Rio and Palms). It runs from 9:30 am to midnight daily.

The Orleans is viewed as one of the best values in LV. You will not get a room, service, food, and comps for this price anywhere on the strip. Staying at a non-strip location gives you a different feeling. On the strip, a few hundred thousand tourists with baby carriages are ambling through your hotel daily and you’re stuck right in the middle of them. This place has everything you’ll want and you’ll want to come back.

We stay here often. Reasonable prices. The suite rooms are very nice if you want to upgrade.

0 Stars RateVegas.com User January 04, 2005

I stay here probably 4 times a year. A lot of casino and hotel for the money. Good restuarants at affordable prices. I' ve always enjoyed my stay here.

0 Stars RateVegas.com User January 02, 2005

We were there Christmas night. I can't say I'd be a nice as the staff if I had to work that day. Front desk was wonderful, Player's Club also! The bed was rock hard and the room needed to freshing, but good for the $$. Slots were not kind to me, but, that's pretty normal. I'd recommend it for someone budget concious but still wanting a nice place.

Really big rooms -- every room has a little sitting area. The Strip view (if you get one) is amazing. Very clean, secure, and quiet.

Took a long weekend and stayed at the Orleans from Thursday Oct. 14-Saturday Oct. 16. I was a bit leery staying off of the strip, but the Orleans was great! The staff was friendly and efficient at check-in, the standard room was huge and the bathroom was great. I was able to get a strip view at no extra charge. The spa rocked! I went there on Friday for a treatment and on Saturday just to use the facilities. I will definitely be returning to the spa during my next trip. I would definitely stay here again.

Great value! Room was very clean, service was excellent from check in to check out! Great mountain view!

0 Stars sonbro September 11, 2003

Room was comfortable, large and well maintained. Staff was awesome, especially at check-in and housekeeping. I highly recommend this property. Great deals to be found in the coupon book given at check-in (we saved big bucks on show tickets using the provided coupon and received a number of free drinks). Buffet was a great deal, little crowded but good food, not the best food mind you, but for the price a steal. Prime Rib loft was disappointing. Poor/slow service and food only mediocre. Wife loved the spa and I loved the cocktail waitress uniforms (best in Vegas!). Pool was closed for the season when we visited.

0 Stars trimmer1 June 05, 2003

We were allowed to combine two separate mailed free room offers, so stayed five nights. This is our favorite place; great offers, food, casino and CWs. Previously stayed at most Strip properties, but this is our new home.

0 Stars RateVegas User February 18, 2003

450 square feet in a standard room, great space with a couch, table, and a separate vanity than the bathroom that can be closed off for privacy. There are 2 phones (one in the bathroom), ironing board and iron, hair dryer, ask for a room with a view of the strip. Very satisfied, and the prices are phenomenal. Don't miss the breakfast at the French Market Buffet for les than six dollars, the widest array of stations, both international and american, and the largest dessert island I have ever seen! The food is fabulous. The casino is huge!

0 Stars RateVegas User June 29, 2002

The room was very good, but if you have a back problem, this place has lousy mattresses. Nothing but a box string with a 6 inches piece of foam as a mattress. Awoke with a backache every morning.

0 Stars RateVegas User November 02, 2001

Just in from The Orleans, we stayed three nights and service was very good. The room was just as shown in photos. Housekeeping did a great job. The casino is fabulous. Cocktail waitresses never let my glass run dry. They were friendly, and fast! Halloween was jumping, it was a full house! Security checks for room keys when you go up. (I liked that a lot) Can't wait to go again. You won't find a better value for the money.

Gorgeous room...woulda been perfect if our remote control wasn't broken, but otherwise, perfect.
