Restaurant Ratings & Reviews Mizuya (Mandalay Bay)

3 Stars Will W October 05, 2011

Mizuya was good but nothing special. The rice has a nutty, toasty flavor to it but otherwise, pretty run of mill sushi. The custom drinks are tasty but a bit expensive at $15+ a pop. What is great about this place though is about twice a week yacht rock cover band, The Guilty Pleasures, play just outside of the restaurant at the Mizuya Lounge. That's about the only reason to go here on purpose.

Lunch special(11am-1pm) has $5 half rolls. Tasty but selection could be larger.

While it's true that the menu isn't surprising or really creative, the sushi is good and so is the service. It's more of a place you might go for if you're craving a little sushi and want a drink maybe pre-show. It's simple but it's still good, and they have a wide variety of sake Try the sweetheart roll. It's soooo good!

Great atmosphere. Not an extensive menu but gets the job done.

This restaurant is the main reason we stay at Mandalay for most trips to Las Vegas. Always have had good service and great food here, along with a nice atmosphere and live musical entertainment later in the evenings. It might not be the most exotic sushi restaurant in vegas, but it works perfectly for us, midwesterners who aren't accustomed to a lot of sushi but love it when we can get it!

Just ate here tonight.

This is a spot that has real potential. We dined here because they have a lot of screens and we had a lot of bets going on NCAA Football. It looked like a comfy place to grab a bite and watch some football.

Too bad almost everything about the place was a joke. The menu is not creative at all. Totally standard. And the standard fare is completely average. Nay... below average. To boot the prices, while not being ridiculous, are certainly high considering what you get.

Don't eat here unless you are just grabbing some beverages and taking advantage of the full bar and the multitude of screens.

Trust your Uncle Sharky on this.
