It appears Liz Benston erred in the article. She used five month figures for Wynn and compared them to three month ones for Bellagio, Venetian. We'll report any correction she makes.

Steve Wynn held a meeting with employees on the 11th to address the media reports. He displayed numbers showing that Wynn has been more profitable than any openings he's had in the past.

In addition, the layoffs reported were a misinterpretation of numbers comparing the current number of employees (~8200) with the original hired number (~10000), a figure that has decreased due to attrition and a reduction typical for a new property. The reporter took this to mean some 2k employees will be laid off. Ridiculous.

Wynn is my favorite resort, but I have heard so much negative publicity about it. For example-restaurants were only half full, Avenue Q is having trouble....
I think it is exciting when a resort adds new restaturants-MgM and Bellaigo especially in the recent years. Do you think that will happen anytime soon-1 year or so at the Wynn? or other resorts? Have you heard of any new amenities at any of the mega resorts to open?
I I said before I loved my visit to the Wynn Las Vegas. When I talked to one of the employees she said that Le Reve is being replaces/renovated and that the shows are failing. I hope they arent true.
