This podcast includes some audio clips from my recent trip to Las Vegas. I talk about construction on Encore, CityCenter, Palazzo, Aladdin and more. Also, some special guests including Tim and Michelle from Five Hundy By Midnight and loyal contributor Mike E. We listen to a few messages from listeners (thanks for the theme song!) and even find some time to talk Vegas news.

Thanks for all the info.

Does the volcano revamp at the Mirage include new signs on the strip? I thought I remember reading that they are getting new signs. The signs they have now are old and you can barely see the one nearest the Forum Shops.

The main marquee, which is indeed now partially blocked on the South side by the Forum Shops expansion, was substantially re-worked in 2000 to install a new high end video screen.

I haven not heard about replacing the signs entirely.

Here's a sort of off-topic post, although I suppose it fits the construction/renovation theme:

I didn't know this until now, but it looks like MGM-Mirage is refurbishing rooms at the Luxor. Is this new? Here's a picture of a Players Suite, and I don't remember any rooms there having flat-panel TVs in them before. The site also shows what they claims is a renovated Tower Deluxe room. The suites appear unchanged.

Oops, looks like I screwed up the HTML of one of my image links, so here it is again:

Yes, they have done some renovations. Not a full on, down to the drywall renovation but some new furnishings. Same at TI.
