JackpotCity.com - 500 FREE Spins!

Well, the rumors are true. I've wanted to share this for some time but the terms of the deal were confidential.

While the formal release won't go out until tomorrow, without disclosing the terms I can say that I am now a Wynn Resorts employee and the company will continue to run the site as one of their various PR outlets. Working with the Wynn mergers folks these past weeks I can say that they and Wynn upper management certainly do understand guerrilla style marketing and I'm very excited about my new role.

I'm going to be able to hire on some of my regular contributors and commenters: Mike E., Detroit, Brian, mike_ch and Leonard - you've got mail! I hope you'll join the team.

Thank you to everyone that's reading! Some great things are planned!

Seriously????

APRIL FOOLS.

Even if it's an April fools joke, I still believe it is possible.

Hunter: I have to admit, this has to be one of the best APIL FOOLS I have seen! I actually (am gullible enough) that I believed it was true for a second there, although it would be rather interesting to have Steve + his minions read my not-so-flattering personal remarks about him. I knew that you were a Wynn "fanboy" but this is way over the top. However, just to err on the side of caution, I'm calling my lawyer first thing tomorrow morning. LOL

This has got to be a joke - great site, been following silently for some time now!

Posted by: billyf on April 1, 2007 10:52 AM

Hehehehehehe...

Honestly, what I thought would give it away without a doubt was my suggestion that you, Leonard, would consider joining WYNN in a PR role... I mean, come on.

Anyway, I thought it was funny, hope y'all did to.

If this isn't a april fool's joke, then congrats! :)

That was great! I almost chooked on my water..

Nicely done, been checking out the site for quite a while, and I bought it for a half second. Keep up the great work!

You had me the entire time and all I could think was, "What the hell are they going to do with Leonard?"

Posted by: Mike E on April 1, 2007 1:04 PM

I never check the site on a Sunday, but it paid off!
But in case it's true, I think Steve Wynn is a genius!

I wish! But I am very of the date today, as soon as I got out of bed. But here is the best one of the day..... Not Vegas Related

Hunter, as soon as I saw this, I caught the first flight from Miami to Vegas. I just arrived at McCarran. Where do I report for work? I'd like an office next to Leonard.

Hunter, I will be sure drop your name when I attempt to comp a room at the Wynn Macau. After that I should only be paying two or three times to rack rate!

Posted by: George/Drambuie on April 1, 2007 5:34 PM

See, I knew there would be office space in whatever Wynn was going to do with the golf course land, I mean he has to move the whole Two Way Hard Three team into their own monolitic bronze tower with "Hillegas" written across the top.

Way to go, Hunter, congrats. Too bad I wasn't invited to join the team.

Well that's confusing because vegastripping claims to have bought you.

Posted by: dzot on April 1, 2007 8:36 PM

(pardon me while I go with the vibe of this article)

You're right dzot, but that's because Vegastripping Chuck actually bought Wynn. That Steve guy is just his representative.

The guy who laid on hundreds of mattresses? That was Chuck. The guy who picked the Fiji bottled water? Yep, that was Chuck. The guy who thought of Tower Suites? Chuck again.

The guy who sent his arm into the painting? Actually, that one was all Steve.

Don't worry John, if there's ever a team, you're on it.

On the whole topic of April Fools, here's a link to an LVBP article that mentions some of the jokes that were floating around:

I guess I'll have to mail my hankie to LVBP. Anybody who pays attention to politics knows that blogs and third-hand news sites often will report anything. It's why CNN doesn't immediately break into coverage to announce the latest giant headline that shows up on the Drudge Report. Any two-bit fool with a host and some design skill could put together a site, or a blog, or a podcast.

I understand McKee's angry that he loses credibility, but credibility is a two-way street. Rumor mills historically have little in the way of credibility, and the reason some people like McKee are being paid to publish this stuff while others aren't isn't because he's got an RSS reader set to check unofficial blogs run by out-of-towners, but because we assume he's competent enough to get the story straight.

If anything, this shows how incompetent industry news is around here.
