According to industry sources, Tao Las Vegas at The Venetian is the highest grossing restaurant in the US, passing No. 2 Tavern on the Green in NYC by a huge margin.

Now, Tao is a nightclub too so it has an advantage but the numbers it is putting up are HUGE nonetheless.

If there was any question why so many restaurant and nightclub operators around the world are lining up to get into Vegas, I have one reason for you:

$55 million.

Simply absurd. Good for them, and I hope it continues.

I agree with the NY Times:
“It’s really a nightclub with the food to complement the club,"
"...it served 600,000 meals, its average dinner check was $70, and 50 percent of its revenues came from alcohol."

That 600,000 meals number comes out to about 1,644 meals a day, every day of the year.

We've tried to hit this place a few times, but could never get in, maybe we'll try again this trip. I leave for Wynn tonight!

Oh, BTW... just a month or so ago, didn't King Leonard tell us Wynn Stock would never see $100 again? Well, sorry Leonard, its over $100 currently. Looks like you'll be buying me lunch this week! :)
