While I very rarely visit the Hilton, I can see how realistic this could be. The exit door to the sports book is nothing more than a few steps away from a having a get away car to what I think is Joe Brown Dr. aligning the Las Vegas Country Club. I can't think of any other sports book that has an exit point to a parking lot that close with that little security. All the big casinos have quite a walk to get to your car or an exit that has a lot of people or valet stand which this area does not. That particular sports book is dead when I've been there especially when there isn't a big game and the horse races are over and with little need for security to patrol that area due to the lack of crowds it might have been these theives best option to hit. The only casino that I can think of off the top of my head where I could see a similar scenario take place is the Monte Carlo. There sports book is realitively close to an exit point, but your stuck on the crowded streets of the Strip for a get away car. These guys knew that Joe Brown Dr. is realitively dead traffic wise. These guys had their plan down, thats for sure. Now go nab them!!

Just FYI the Stardust used to have easy access to the outdoor world from it's sports book as well.
