Tropicana Scraps 10,000 Room Redevelopment Plan

Posted by Hunter

In what should come as a surprise to no one, Tropicana Entertainment has confirmed that the plans that would have put 10,000 rooms on that site are dead and any future development could be seven years away.

It's good to hear they want to put some money into much needed maintenance but if they think that putting a food court by the pool is going to turn this place around, they're insane.

One thing I like here--the "seven years" thing makes it sound positively Biblical or something. It's way, way better than the usual "six to eight quarters" garbage we get.

Now that these 10,000 rooms are officially off the board, we may see a rash of ER visits as gaming analysts trip over themselves rushing to revise their estimates for longterm visitation. Or not.
