Golden Nugget Sale Completed

Posted by Hunter

Well, Landry's now owns downtown's most luxurious casino, the Golden Nugget.

Tim and Tom tried to drastically change its direction with mixed results. Landry's has pledged to focus more on slot players than high rollers and to add a third hotel tower.

I think George "LOONEY" Clooney should take note of what happened when Tim and Tom tried to take the GN "Old School". There is just not enough interest in dressing up to look old time hollywood/euroglam to go to a casino in america. I suspect GC will have to change his tune when nobody shows up after the first week of curiousity seekers. But maybe I am wrong. Good luck to Landry's, another never been in the business company who is taking a whack at the gambling scene. I hope they do better than "not of this" planet hollywood which is destroying the Aladdin, architecturally speaking, and will surely fail if the food in their restaraunt chains is any indication of their commitment to excellence. OK enough bashing for now, lets watch the fun :))

Say goodbye to the diamond of downtown. She is gone. What is there now is a Landry's building wanting to be what Steve Wynn started years ago. Landry's has already eliminated over 200 of the original employees from restaurants, to special events, to marketing etc. Tillman Fertitta thinks he is so successful that he doesn't need customer or employee loyalty because he is the Houston Cowboy and people will just want to come to his place and they will want to work for him. Goodbye Golden Nugget hello Landry's addition.
