Google Earth Publishes New Las Vegas Photos

Posted by Hunter

For those of you that are Google Earth users, they have posted new, high resolution images onto the service for Las Vegas, NV.

The photos were apparently taken in March 2006 and feature fairly high resolution. You can see people and their shadows, all the Strip casinos, etc... Great stuff.

I noticed the updated pics the other day. Knew they were very recent since Bourbon Street is gone and the demolition at The Boardwalk is visibly underway along with work on the rest of the City Center site.

Too bad the next update probably won't be for a few years... But you can see what is on the roof at Wynn Las Vegas!

I also noticed that the repainting of the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood hotel tower exterior has begun.

I have to admit. I'm not real excited by the prospect of the tacky Planet Hollywood theming becoming so prominent on this section of the strip. Too white trashy.

After looking at the Google Earth, I'll agree with you Hunter. The front of the Venetian does look like a giant parking lot! I wonder why all of the hotel towers are in in white. For example when I looked at the Bellagio - the main tower was white and outlined in black but you could see the Spa Tower.
