The RJ Goes to Macau

Posted by Hunter

Looks like the RJ has a front page piece on Macau gaming, specifically US based operators there. It's an interesting piece and it comes with a fairly cheesy map and some photos. Worth checking out - even some photos of the analysts that get quoted in every gaming article in the paper.

Thanks, Hunter. I have out of town guests and haven't kept up with the RJ. I'll read the series every day this week. Bill Lerner of Deutsche Bank is pretty sharp. He is based in Vegas, so he's more in tune with gaming than many in their Manhattan ivory towers.

Yeah, it's important to note this is a series of articles for the week - keep reading all week long.

Lerner seems to have a pretty sweet gig there - isn't that Jim Murren's old gig, before he joined MGM (then MGG)?

Pity they mention Fernando's by name - its got far more character than anything at the venetian and its hard enough getting a table in the evenings anyway, let alone once foreign media starts talking about it. There is better Portugese food to be found in Macau (and definitely better sangria), but the open-air by-the-beach ambience of Fernando's is hard to beat.
